PO Box in Tbilisi: How to Receive Mail in Georgia Without a Home Address

Just like in the United States, you can rent a PO Box in Tbilisi — a practical fallback if you travel often or spend time outside the country but still want a stable place for your mail.
This service is offered by Georgia Post and works well for letters, small parcels, and postcards, especially if you don’t want to rely on couriers or neighbors while you’re away.
How it works
You visit a post office with your passport and ask about renting a PO Box. Not every branch offers this service — smaller or less busy locations often don’t — so it’s best to go straight to a central office, such as the main Georgia Post branch on Lesya Ukrainka Street. If the staff aren’t immediately familiar with the request, asking for a more experienced specialist usually helps.
Once confirmed, you’ll receive payment details. Payment can be made via TBC Bank using a self-service kiosk, even without a bank account. After paying, return to the post office with the receipt and you’ll be given the key to your box.
What to expect
PO Boxes may be located inside the post office or outside the building. Outdoor boxes are especially convenient, as they can be checked 24/7, including weekends and public holidays. The rental period is one month, after which the key must be returned.
These boxes are suitable for letters, postcards, and small parcels — a calm, predictable alternative if you’re tired of chasing deliveries.
Addressing your mail
When receiving mail, use the post office’s address and your PO Box number, not a home address.
Example:
2 Lesya Ukrainka Street, Tbilisi 0105, PO Box 7
Cost
The price is 6 GEL per month, which is approximately $2.20 USD.
