Tbilisi’s Okriba Bus Station Launches New Website
The Didube bus station “Okriba” has launched a new website and refreshed its visual identity. For more than three decades, it has been an important part of intercity transportation, but the time has come for an upgrade. Everything is still in an early stage, but the station now has a new visual design.
For years, intercity passenger transportation within the country remained a problematic sector due to the lack of an effective legal framework, which led to the presence of unregulated drivers and carriers in the market, said Zurab Kvavadze, the director of Okriba.
According to him, the situation has changed significantly thanks to a package of legislative acts passed last year and fully implemented this year.
Given the new reality, Okriba has developed both short-term and long-term development strategies. The bus station has already received the status of a transport agency and begun full digitalization of its services. A key part of this process is the newly launched official website at www.okriba.ge, where passengers can plan their trips 60 days in advance and purchase tickets.
At the moment, the full Tbilisi–Kutaisi route is available on the website, and by the end of the month, the night service from Tbilisi to Zugdidi will be added.
If you are still experiencing difficulties with the new website, you can also buy tickets through an alternative platform at citybus.ge.
